“Standstill” is an experimental video performance by Kristine Tusiashvili, presented by Art Foundation Anagi in collaboration with the platform Unarchived Semiotics.
The work explores the condition of an individual on the edge of emotional and physical exhaustion, where prostration transforms into not only a psychological, but also a temporal and bodily experience. The video performance reflects a state in which the desire for change remains intense, while the ability to act is suspended.
Drawing on her background in performance and photography, Tusiashvili constructs a visual language that navigates the tension between inner resistance, vulnerability, and the persistence of hope. Through the precise manipulation of image, gesture, and duration, “Standstill” examines the fragmented and often elusive nature of human experience.
Against the backdrop of prolonged crisis and stagnation, the artist reflects on cycles of emotional paralysis, renewal, and the emergence of vital energy. The work invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between body, memory, and perception within a contemporary condition marked by instability and emotional fatigue.
